The woman was upset and told her grandmother that her husband had ¢нєαтє∂ on her.

I had no clue “carrot, egg, or coffee” meant that. Grandmothers are unquestionably the wisest individuals.

When we confront hardships in life, we want to share our fears and anxiety with those around us to feel less alone.

One day, a woman discovered her spouse was cheating on her. Her world had shattered into a million pieces, and she needed someone to talk to, so she went to her grandmother. When she described the problem, the elderly lady instructed her to follow her to the kitchen. She took three pots and used them to boil water. Then she placed a carrot, an egg, and some coffee beans in separate pots.

The granddaughter was perplexed and asked her grandmother what was going on, to which the woman replied that she needed to be patient and witness it for herself.

After some time, the grandmother took the carrot and asked her granddaughter to tell her what the water did to the vegetable. The granddaughter claimed that boiling water softened the root. At the same time, the boiling water caused the egg to solidify. The coffee beans were responsible for the alteration in the water.

The grandmother then asked her granddaughter if she was the carrot, egg, or coffee beans.

Adversity can soften us in the same way that water softened the carrot. We overcome our issues and become more adaptable and empathetic. Sometimes, like the egg, we become stronger and tougher. If we choose to be a coffee bean, we don’t let the situation impact us; instead, we work hard to transform it in ways that benefit us and propel us to the next level.

The granddaughter learned a valuable lesson that day.

Which one are you? Carrot, egg, or coffee bean?
