On Monday, King Charles and Queen Camilla were forced to leave a public event on the island of Jersey due to security concerns. The King and Queen were rushed to leave an open-air expo due to a security risk, leaving many royal admirers concerned. The couple was in Jersey on a two-day tour to the Channel Islands when the event occurred. Continue reading for more information on the matter.
During their visit to the Channel Islands, King Charles and Camilla were told to cut their third engagement of the day short at Weighbridge Place. According to accounts, the royals were subsequently escorted to a nearby hotel, where they waited for an all-clear signal from their security chief. After a quick 20-minute break, the couple met the local schoolchildren before being invited to a tea party.
While addressing this matter, a royal source stated, “There was a small issue of concern, an investigation turned out to be a false alarm, every precaution was taken, and the programme resumed shortly afterwards.”
This comes immediately following the fallout from Donald Trump’s attempted assassination. King Charles reportedly contacted the former president and issued a confidential message condemning gun violence and wishing those impacted a swift recovery.
Charles and Camilla were visiting with Eamon Fenlon, the managing director of Jersey Dairy, when the incident occurred. While recounting the story, Fenlon stated that he had just served the Queen ice cream before she was whisked away from the Expo.
Another company representative claimed he had been interacting with the King when his security approached him. He said how a soldier ‘grabbed’ him and told him that Charles ‘needs to go, immediately,’ and that while ‘he didn’t look terrified,’ the guard was ‘very serious.’
This is the couple’s first visit to the two bailiwicks, and it comes as Charles resumes some public duties despite being treated for cancer. The 75-year-old and his wife have had hectic schedules with all of their royal duties, and we wish them a long and happy life.
