THE Royals were a happy family on the Buckingham Palace balcony when the Princess of Wales made an emotional one-time appearance.
Catherine made a brave return to public life after battling illness for the past three months.
She didn’t have to go to Trooping the Colour, and no one would have faulted her for staying away. Nevertheless, she chose to attend. It demonstrates how deeply she values her duty and family.
I haven’t seen the Princess of Wales in person since her last public appearance on Christmas Day, over six months ago. Today, she looked quite well and, more importantly, very healthy.
While Kensington Palace posted a solemn photo on Friday, Catherine beams with excitement today, and her smile will warm the hearts of the nation.
Accompanied by William, who has soldiered on alone while supporting his ill wife and her gorgeous children, the entire group appeared relaxed and unified on one of the most significant days of the year for the Royal Family.
It was also nice to witness Catherine conversing with her father-in-law, King Charles. Both of them worked hard to return to their jobs, and even through a long lens, you can see they have genuine warmth for each other. The only issue was the usual British weather. It was frigid. It was wet.
King Charles looks regal as he gives the royal salute in his first Trooping the Colour since being diagnosed with cancer.
But when the Princess came out to greet and wave, it was worth enduring the downpour.
Since it was a military parade, there were many elegant clothes on show, but the Princess of Wales’ gorgeous white dress stood out above the rest.
Almost every camera was trained on her, and with exceptional taste, she chose an outfit that hundreds of well-wishers could see down The Mall. This was an amazing return by a remarkable woman, and I’m sure having her family by her side meant everything. So it’s no surprise that she smiled the entire time.
