A mum has been left raging after she paid £85 for a ‘Grinch visit’ for her son — and ended up having her home trashed.
Laura Magill said she was “disgusted” by the experience after the “Grinch” smashed eggs on her floor, covered the kitchen tiles in Fairy Liquid and poured JUICE on her son.
Mother Laura Magill, who according to BelfastLive is from Northern Ireland, shared her bizarre experience in a Facebook status where she describes feeling “disgusted” by the rogue festive entertainer.
She wrote on Facebook: “So, paid £85 for Grinch visit…advertises the Grinch to come in, mess the kids’ bed, have pillow fights, put toilet rill around your Christmas tree and pictures at the end.”
Laura goes on: “Versus what I got, every single bit of party food, expensive cupcakes thrown all over the place, tree decorations broke!
She claims that while the advertisement suggested the Grinch would “mess the kids bed”, throw toilet paper on their Christmas tree and take photographs at the end, what she received instead was something far more destructive.
Describing the damage, the mum writes: “Every bit of party food expensive cupcakes threw all over the place tree decorations BROKE !!! ”
She added that she had contacted the company which had sent the troublesome Grinch, but had received no reply.
Laura’s story has now gone viral with over 132,000 likes after a Twitter user named Cafucatfood screenshotted the post.
Finding humour in the surreal event, he wrote in the caption: “Maybe the funniest thing iv (sic) ever seen in my life”.
Many tweeted back in disbelief at the story, with some asking why a parent would spend such a sum on having someone mess up a room.
A Northern Irish events company have also hit back after being mistaken for the group involved in the visit.
LOC-Down Events Superheroes & Princess Hire clarified the post in question wasn’t about their Grinch, who is a “movie quality Jim Carey style Grinch” set for performances, plays, and games – not for wrecking the homes of shocked parents.
The group added they “do not destroy any property at events or home visits.”
Laura also said the experience advertised pictures with the kids – but she kicked the Grinch out before they could snap any pictures, as she was fuming.
The mum accompanied her post with pictures showing the carnage caused by the mystery Grinch.
Laura’s delicious-looking spread featuring cookies, Grinch cupcakes, crisps, dips and all manner of other delicious treats have been smeared across her spotless living room floor.
What appears to be green icing from the cupcakes is smooshed into the wooden floor, with crumbling biscuits and crisps scattered round it.
A pink feather boa, silver tray – and what appears to be a rogue Christmas decoration – also join the chaos.
But some social media users couldn’t understand why Laura was so upset.
