Ganga and Jamna, conjoined twins from India, were born with two arms, three legs, and two hearts, a rare combination that prompted their original parents to abandon them at birth.
Despite their struggles, the sisters found love and overcame the obstacles. They married the same man in 2014 and are now living as a family.
Born around 1969 or 1970, their actual birth date is unknown owing to their parents’ rejection when they realized they would be unable to care for them. Ganga and Jamna persevered despite the lack of support from their family. While they each had one heart and two arms, they only shared three legs, but that never prevented them from progressing in life.
In 1993, the twins gave birth to a girl, but she d.i.e.d after only one day.
Despite their sadness, Ganga and Jamna remained hopeful for a better future. In 2008, they joined a traveling circus in India, which changed their life dramatically. They gained the nickname “Spider Sisters” for their unusual appearance and rose to prominence and a stable income as circus performers.
In 2014, Gadadhar, a new circus performer, entered their life. Ganga and Jamna instantly fell in love with him, and he supported their unique situation and career. Now in their fifties, the sisters continue to work in the circus, loving both their career and the love they share. Though doctors have urged that they be separated, the twins have firmly refused.
They believe that their link is fundamental to their identity and that without it, they would lose what makes them unique. Instead of splitting up, they choose to live together with their husband, continuing to inspire and excite their fans with their incredible story.
