The Prince and Princess of Wales have sent Princess Anne a personal message following her return to royal responsibilities.
Princess Anne made her first public appearance since being hospitalized for five days after a horse-related incident.
The royal couple posted on social media: “Super trooper! So great to see you back so soon! W & C x”
Kate and William were reacting to images of Princess Anne during her first public appearance since being released from the hospital.
Anne went to the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College in Gloucester on Friday.
The RDA is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year, and Her Royal Highness has served as its Patron since November 1971.
In March 1986, the Princess Royal assumed the presidency of the institution.
Helena Vega Lozano, head of RDA UK, reported that Anne provided a brief account of the incident that landed her in hospital.
The Princess Royal returned to her royal responsibilities on Friday.
Vega observed: “As soon as she got out of the car she said: ‘I can’t remember a single thing about it.’”
The royal spent five days in the hospital before being discharged on Friday, June 28.
In June, Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, stated that his wife was “recovering slowly” from the accident and praised the medical personnel at Southmead Hospital.
On June 24, Buckingham Palace issued a statement detailing Anne’s accident, saying: “The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening.
In March 1986, the Princess Royal assumed the presidency of the institution.
“Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery.”
Following the incident, Buckingham Palace confirmed that on doctor’s advice, Anne’s engagements would be cancelled until further notice.
Anne was unable to carry out a scheduled trip to Canada following the injuries.
